We have always been committed to our local community. In addition to a lot of local fundraising, we have been quietly benevolent – providing donations of food to the homeless at the end of every day for over ten years now. Today, this emphasis on the need to care is also fully focused on a drive to create a genuinely sustainable business.
CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
We are driving ever greater efficiency in energy use – with more efficient gas ovens, long life lightbulbs and solar panels – and soon hope to be able to move to a fleet of electric vans, as greater electrification infrastructure spreads into the North-East.
We are also making a big push on recycling in the business – with our packaging and food waste recycled. We are embarking on a feasibility study to investigate the practicality of fermenting food waste to make raw spirit, which in turn would add further fuel to the entrepreneurial drive that has seen the Allan family investigate innovative new brands in the vodka and gin markets.
